We have lovely memories of Abancay. Our legs never got such a workout up and down that town. As you know, the Sandbergs spent their 18 mos there, and were dearly loved by the people. It's not a pleasant route to get there, but we minimized the discomfort by renting a car and driver. I don't think Dawn could have made it in a combi. We did make a return trip by large bus once, and it wasn't too bad. We stayed at a fairly nice hotel, just behind the Church, but it seemed the power would go off most mornings, and specifically on Sunday. There were always roosters just outside to wake us up. Our schedule was always 100% filled with Historia Familiar appointments when we were there, the members are wonderful.
