Live Nativity Dec. 23

A live Nativity in the Park.  I am not sure what the three "Angels" on stilts were.  They looked a little like the Three Musketeers with wings.  Anyway they knew who we were because they called us Hermanos.

More Market

More Market

A true Peruvian Christmas Tree.
The day after Christmas everything was gone
and the plaza was cleaned and the flowers were
blooming.

Sort of a strange Christmas.

More phone lines and Christmas

The phone lines are just such a wonder.

Two days before Christmas the village people bring their wares to sell they set up booths all around Plaza de Armas and San Pedro and anywhere else they can.  There are hundreds of them.

Trip to Abancay and Andahuaylas

Elder Poulsen took Elder Johnson with him to do some church business in Andahuaylas check out the road on the side of that hill.  They had a taxi all the way with 5 people in a small car on a very curvy, narrow road. The scenery was amazing.

Christmas Party for the Missionaries.  Us, Sister Herrera with daughter Ariela Santa, Pres. Herrera with daughter Gabriela (she is getting baptized Saturday Dec. 17) and Nancy and Lyle Poulsen the couple missionaries that are leaving.  They really had a big party all day. With skits and songs and food.  The missionaries love that a food.
The Inca's built all this stone walls and the Spaniards came in and tore it down and built on top of the walls. It's so amazing how they fit together and how big they are.

Plaza de Armas

This is President Herrera and his wife.  The day after we got here started Zone Conference and he took all of his people that help to dinner.  Lucky us.  It was a great Peruvian meal.
This is on our way to the church about 5 blocks.  So far it has rained sometime in everyday .
We wear rain jackets everyday, just in case.

Promart next door & Zone Conference and Coke
